"Trillium" by Kori Linae Carothers PDF Print E-mail
Sound - Music Reviews

Kori Linae Carothers - Trillium Trillium, released this year after two years of composition, is Kori Linae Carothers' third album. On her website, Carothers describes the album as "a musical ear-candy journey," with music that "ranges from Ambient-Chill, to Native American, to UpTempo Instrumental." While I have in past been harsh on albums with eclectic styles, I found that Trillium was composed thoughtfully enough that the differing songs complement one another.

The album contains 11 tracks, all instrumental unless you count some native-american-style chanting near the end. Each song is also available for individual digital purchase, but as a full album they truly shine. Compositions range from simple piano-and-violin to more complicated strings-drums-winds combinations. Melody and harmony take center stage, making Trillium ideal for looping as background music or for active relaxation.

Music from Trillium, as well as Carothers' other two albums The Journey and The Road Less Travelled, is available for purchase at koritunes.com or through Amazon, CDbaby, or iTunes. Trillium is available as a CD for $14.99 or $10.00 for a digital album. Individual tracks are available at $0.99 each, but my recommendation is to treat yourself, and your ears, to the full album. You'll be glad you did.
